GDE730 – Week 10

This week I have been looking into the promotional artefact assignment for 730. As part of this, I have been looking into how promotional material is produced by existing studios and how effective it is for their audience. I have also been researching into cross company collaborations to see if this could be a possibility for my business. Through my research, I have found that Barnsley has a company that is government funded to help people start up their own business called Enterprising Barnsley. They aim to get businesses back into the Barnsley area.

My thoughts for this assignment is to hold an exhibition space both myself and Enterprising Barnsley could operate and offer people support and work with new and up and coming businesses. I would have a stand where I can hold conversations and consultations with new potential clients to help boost their design needs and offer them start up solutions. This exhibition space will need to be branded and will need to be promoted to the wider Barnsley area in some way. I need to go out and see how promotional material is shown to the wider audience.

After going out for a drive round my area, I realised that a really simple method of promotion is on the back of buses. It offers mobile advertisement and people who are stuck behind the busses will see it and be drawn to it. It is well known within my area that there are two kinds of people, those who wait for a bus and those who are stuck behind a bus, so I think that this method would be perfect to try and achieve for my promotion of the exhibition.
