GDE730 -Week 6

This week I have been doing much better, I have progressed further and the business plan is nearly complete. Now that I can look at a screen again without wanting to tear my eyes out, I have been making good progress. To give my brain a rest from the business plan, I have also been looking at assignment 2 – studio practice which has allowed me to think about how I will present myself to my audience. I am currently torn between web design and print design. Having explored app design within GDE710, I am edging towards print design, but I am not set in stone just yet.

RESEARCH TASKS – NOTES

  • Interdisciplinary collaboration is also crucial regrading leadership and soft skills in design.
  • Design leaders such as creative and art directors oversee the design process, and their ability to work with creatives from other disciplines. This is essential for success.
  • communication with different departments and teams, understand the needs of stakeholders and manage complex projects.
  • The ever evolving state of the design world means that there is always a need to remain constant with skills and working with different areas and disciplines.

Design ideas to encourage interdisciplinary convos and outcomes

  • Because I work in a college, I communicate daily with both artistic and digital based subjects, both centralised around their own respected practices.
  • Most recently there has been major convos about integrating collaboration between subjects.
    • Fashion working with graphics to brand new fashion collections
    • The integration of architecture skills into graphics program to allow them to explore new areas of design output.
    • Games design working with graphics for them to explore 3D design of a graphics learner’s concepts and produce the outcome.
